6 player prop bet picks for Dolphins vs. Patriots in Week 18

1 week ago 2

The Miami Dolphins are looking to close out a lackluster season on a high note by spoiling their rival New England Patriots' attempt to clinch the AFC's No. 1 seed for the playoffs. A win would also be a statement for Miami head coach Mike McDaniel, who could use an exclamation point at the end of the year with his job status in doubt.

So will the Dolphins show the fight they managed in an upset win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last week? Or is it best to steer clear of Miami players on the betting markets.

Here are the most enticing prop plays going into Week 18's AFC East clash:

All odds via BetMGM

Quinn Ewers OVER 27.5 passing attempts (-135)

Rookie Quinn Ewers earned his first NFL victory last week with a pair of touchdowns, but wasn't asked to do too much and finished 14-of-22 passing for 172 yards. In Week 18, there is a good chance he'll need to throw much more as the Patriots should find more offensive success than Tampa Bay managed. Ewers threw 30 times two weeks ago in his starting debut against the Cincinnati Bengals, and hitting close to that mark is likely in Week 18.

Drake Maye 250+ passing yards (-140)

Second-year quarterback Drake Maye is having a stellar season and is a candidate for the league MVP award. In a game that could clinch a top AFC seed in the playoffs, Maye should continue his consistent play. He is averaging 262.7 passing yards per game this season, and has gone over 250 in all but four contests.

TreVeyon Henderson OVER 73.5 rushing+receiving yards (-118)

The rookie running back has had a solid season, and hit his stride in the second half of the schedule. He's hit 73 scrimmage yards in eight of the Patriots' last nine games and racked up 161 yards just a few weeks ago against the Buffalo Bills. Henderson should be a big part of the Patriots' game plan Sunday.

Jaylen Wright under 16.5 rushing attempts (-130)

While De'Von Achane is listed as doubtful for Week 18 and Wright could be the main back, he has only rushed 10-plus times in a game once. In a matchup that could see New England jump out to an early lead, Wright may not get a huge amount of carries as the Dolphins will likely need Ewers to keep them in contention.

Greg Dulcich OVER 44.5 receiving yards (-118)

Dulcich is coming off his season-high in receiving yards last week with 58 and found the end zone for the first time this season. His five catches with Ewers at the helm last week tied his season high. Additionally, without Darren Waller, who was placed on injured reserve again this week, Dulcich could be a top target in Week 18 for his rookie quarterback.

Hunter Henry 50+ receiving yards (-115)

The tight end has averaged 44.5 yards per game this season, which is the second-best mark in his 10-year career. Over the last six games, he has increased that average to 55.8 yards a contest and found the end zone three times. The Dolphins will also be without safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, which could make life a bit easier for Henry on Sunday.
