5 preferred starters among Packers inactives vs. Vikings in Week 18

As expected, the Green Bay Packers are sitting several key starters during Sunday's regular season finale against the Minnesota Vikings. Among the team's seven gameday inactive players on Sunday, five are preferred starters.

Matt LaFleur's team is resting running back Josh Jacobs, right tackle Zach Tom, linebacker Quay Walker, linebacker Edgerrin Cooper and safety Xavier McKinney agianst the Vikings. Quarterback Malik Willis is inactive while dealing with shoulder and hamstring injuries, and receiver Dontayvion Wicks is out while in concussion protocol.

The Packers making Willis inactive means Jordan Love will be the backup quarterback behind starter Clayton Tune on Sunday.

Green Bay could only make seven players inactive in forming the gameday 48-man roster, but expect several other starters to be available but get rest or have limited playtime on Sunday.

Cornerback Trevon Diggs, who was claimed off waivers on Thursday, is active and will play. He will be one of several Packers making their debuts on Sunday. Others include veteran defensive tackle Jonathan Ford, rookie defensive end Collin Oliver, offensive lineman Lecitus Smith, cornerbacks Jaylin Simpson and Shemar Bartholomew, safety Johnathan Baldwin and receiver Jacobie Keeney-James.
