One Arizona Cardinals player from the 2025 season now finds himself in the playoffs. Wide receiver Trent Sherfield, who was one of eight Cardinals players to have their practice squad contracts expire, has landed with another team.

He has signed with the practice squad of the New England Patriots, who face the Houston Texans at home on Sunday in the divisional round of the playoffs.

Sherfield spent the final seven games of the season on Arizona's practice squad, getting elevated to play twice. He played 23 snaps on offense and 37 on special teams, logging two combined special teams tackles.

Sherfield, with years of experience playing on special teams, might just get elevated this weekend and get to play in the postseason after not seeing the Cardinals win even once in the seven weeks he was with the team.
