WNBA star Caitlin Clark on why she's pulling for Drake Maye, Patriots

WNBA superstar Caitlin Clark is high on the New England Patriots and quarterback Drake Maye. She appeared on The New Heights podcast on Wednesday and indicated that she is riding with the Patriots this season.

The Patriots are certainly worthy of the praise. They currently sit at 13-3 and are still in a position to land the top seed in the AFC. When it comes to building a fan base, it doesn't get much better than capturing the attention and support of one of the WNBA's biggest stars.

“Honestly like, I’m a Drake Maye fan," said Clark. "I think he’s been incredible. Honestly, I’ll probably be pulling for the Patriots.”

Maye is currently favored to win the NFL MVP award.

The second-year quarterback has quickly developed into one of the top young players in the league. He went 19-of-21 passing for 256 yards and five touchdowns in last week's 42-10 win over the New York Jets. This season, he has thrown for 4,203 yards, 30 touchdowns and eight interceptions.

Whether he can maintain that level of play in the postseason remains to be seen. The Patriots have already clinched a spot in the playoffs and are less than two weeks away from their biggest game of the season.
