The Wisconsin Badgers are expected to hire Minnesota running backs coach Jayden Everett to the same position, according to multiple reports. The move just a few days after former Badgers RBs coach Devon Spalding departed Madison for Michigan State to join new head coach Pat Fitzgerald's coaching staff.
While Minnesota's running back room had a disappointing year in 2024, Everett was still highly praised by fans and reporters due to his recruiting abilities and success on the field when the Gophers' tailbacks were healthy. Before Minnesota, Everett was the assistant running backs coach at the University of Michigan for the 2024 season, where he helped develop both Kalel Mullings and Donovan Edwards in their final seasons as Wolverines. Mullings rushed for a career best 948 yards in his lone season with Everett, a 726-yard increase from the prior season.

Overall, Everett appears to be a solid hire from head coach Luke Fickell as he works to round out his coaching staff before the transfer portal cycle heats up.
