Here is the third edition of the 2025-26 boys and girls high school basketball rankings for the Appleton area. Teams are ranked "pound-for-pound" based on enrollment size. Records are through Dec. 28.
GIRLS
1, Winneconne (9-1): Wolves continue strong season with 92-3 victory over Green Bay East and 65-47 win over Laconia this past week. Team plays Lourdes Academy on Dec. 30.

2, Appleton East (7-1): Patriots sit atop Fox Valley Association (6-0) and are on seven-game win streak following 81-71 victory over Neenah. Team hosts Laconia on Jan. 5.
3, Kimberly (8-2): Papermakers rebound from two-game losing streak with wins over Fond du Lac (67-34), Appleton North (75-48) and Appleton West (75-22). Haylie Dulas (14.7 ppg) and Ava Van Vonderen (13.9) lead the team in scoring. Team plays at Pewaukee on Jan. 3.

4, Neenah (8-2): Rockets tumble a few spots in rankings after 81-71 loss to Appleton East. Team looked to get back to winning ways with game against Waunakee on Dec. 29.

5, St. Mary Catholic (8-0): Zephyrs crack into top 5 and are coming off 69-48 victory over Valders. Team is led in scoring by junior Autumn Crowe (19.5). Gabby Guerrero (10.8) and Luci Nackers (10.1) are also in double digits.
Others: Xavier (6-2), Appleton North (7-3), Fox Valley Lutheran (7-1), Brillion (8-3), Seymour (5-3).
BOYS
1, Freedom (8-0): Irish strengthens its hold on the top spot with convincing 74-58 victory over Division 1 power Brookfield Central at the Rick Majerus/WBY Shootout. Team has huge game against Little Chute on Jan. 6.
2, Kaukauna (6-0): Ghosts led in scoring and rebounding by 6-foot-9 Andrew Jensen (18.7 ppg, 13.8 ppg). Team also has Tyler Schwalbach (14.4), Jonah Roehrig (13.7) and Josh Carl (10.5) in double digits for scoring. Ghosts play Marquette on Dec. 30 in Rick Majerus/WBY Shootout.

3, Appleton North (6-2): Lightning routs Hortonville 83-27 and plays pair of upcoming games at Rick Majerus/WBY Shootout (Homestead, West Allis Central). Team is led in scoring by Grant Hardy (19.2) with Matthew Rosplochowski (17.7) and Will Sweeney (16.5) also in double digits.
4, Seymour (6-0): Thunder beat Green Bay West (80-30) and Ashwaubenon (72-56) this past week. Team played Appleton East on Dec. 29 at the Shawano Hoops Holiday Classic at the Kress Center at UW-Green Bay.

5, Neenah (6-1): Rockets on six-game win streak since season-opening loss to Brookfield East on Nov. 26. Team plays De Pere at Rick Majerus/WBY Shootout on Dec. 30.
