While some will sleep before making good (or not) on their New Year resolutions, Will Power hasn't wasted any time making a first impression — as if the 44-year-old needs to.
Power has raced in IndyCar since 2009 and, for the first time, is with a different team beginning New Year's Day. In a silly season in which the biggest news centered on Power's free agency, it ended with him not signing a contract with Team Penske and instead joining Andretti Global in September.

Power will drive the No. 26 vacated by Colton Herta, starting his own venture in Formula 2 in pursuit of qualifying for Formula 1. Power, who will turn 45 at the IndyCar debut on the streets of St. Pete on March 1, is a two-time series champion and won the 2018 Indy 500.
It wasn't until Jan. 1, 2026, that Power was able to speak about the move since he was still under contract with Team Penske through the end of the season. An hour into his new deal, he took to Twitter, donning apparel of his Andretti Global team, to remind everyone of his move.
"Happy New Year," Power said, in-between breaths on a run, "you know what? This Andretti stuff is very nice to work out in, in the cold. This is like, the first day of work.
"We're in 26, and I'm in the 26."
The video tails off quickly as he continues his run in the dark night.
