An SEC showdown is on tap for the 2025 College Football Playoff quarterfinals.

The Georgia Bulldogs will be taking on Ole Miss Rebels in the second round of the CFP, as Georgia's playoff path begins, while Ole Miss seeks another win after taking down Tulane in the first round.

With the winner of that game advancing to the CFP semifinals, the SEC squad would face either a Big Ten powerhouse or a red-hot ACC team.

Who will Georgia or Ole Miss play next?

The CFP does not reseed, so winner of the Georgia vs. Ole Miss game will play one of two teams: either Ohio State or Miami.

The second-seeded Buckeyes are looking to repeat as national champions, while the Hurricanes have used an elite defense to reach the playoff's quarterfinals, including a win over Texas A&M in the first round.

The two winners between Georgia vs. Ole Miss and Ohio State vs. Miami will meet in the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl, which will be at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

It will be either an SEC vs. Big Ten, or SEC vs. ACC matchup at the Fiesta Bowl for the CFP semifinal this year.

Regardless of their opponent, either Georgia or Ole Miss will continue their 2025 playoff run at the Fiesta Bowl on Thursday, Jan. 8.
