Who are the Indianapolis Colts' 2026 free agents?

With the offseason now here for the Indianapolis Colts, let's take a look ahead to who their free agents are this offseason.

According to Over the Cap, the Colts are set to enter the offseason with $45.77 million in available salary cap space. Compared to the rest of the NFL, this is the ninth most.

As the Colts look to still get over the playoff hump, GM Chris Ballard will have to further reshape the roster, which should mean moving on from some of these free agents -- even key contributors -- to bring in new faces.

Unrestricted free agents have at least four years of accrued NFL experience and can sign wherever they please.

Indianapolis Colts 2026 restricted free agents

A restricted free agent (RFA) is a player with three accrued years of NFL experience. The RFA's current team has the option of placing one of three tenders on that player: a first-round tender, a second-round tender, or a right of first refusal tender.

If no tender is placed on an RFA, they then become an unrestricted free agent. However, if one of those tenders is placed on the RFA, they can then negotiate with other teams, but there is a caveat.

If the tendered RFA receives an offer from another organization, the current team has the opportunity to match the contract. If they do, then the RFA returns to the original team. But if they don't, whatever tender was placed on the RFA, the original team will get that as compensation from the new team.

If the RFA receives a tender but does not get an offer from another team, they will then re-sign with the original team and receive a one-year contract at a predetermined amount set by the NFLPA based on which tender was utilized.

Indianapolis Colts 2026 exclusive rights free agents

An exclusive rights free agent (ERFA) is a player with two or fewer accrued NFL seasons.

Although ERFA has the words 'free agent' in it, this isn't like being an unrestricted free agent, where that player can choose where they go. If an ERFA is extended a qualifying offer from their current team, they cannot negotiate with other organizations.
