Michigan football fans have been waiting with bated breath to learn the fate of Team 147 on the heels of a new coaching staff coming in. There have been some unexpected departures into the transfer portal, but as new head coach Kyle Whittingham said in his introductory press conference, the first goal of his is player retention.

On Monday, three key players announced they were returning in 2026, headlined by quarterback Bryce Underwood. And on Tuesday, according to a report, his No. 1 target will also be returning.

There was some postseason consternation about the fate of wide receiver Andrew Marsh, who ended up leading the Wolverines in receiving in his freshman campaign, with 45 catches for 651 yards and four receiving touchdowns, to go along with two carries for 13 yards and another touchdown. Rumors swirled that Marsh was looing to leave Ann Arbor, but as first reported by The Michigan Insider's Sam Webb, Marsh appears set to return.

Michigan has yet to formally announce Marsh's return. When that comes, we will update the article below.

The Wolverines lose No. 2 receiver Donaven McCulley due to his being out of eligibility while No. 3 receiver Semaj Morgan has opted to enter the transfer portal. Michigan has two receivers coming in via recruiting in four-star Travis Johnson and three-star Jaylen Pile (four-star Brady Marchese ended up being released from his NLI and signed with Auburn). But there are other receivers already on campus that could play a role, including Jamar Browder, Jacob Washington, Channing Goodwin, and I'Marion Stewart.
