Where Vanderbilt women rank in college basketball polls after blowing out Texas A&M

Vanderbilt women's basketball is ranked No. 5 in the latest AP Poll released Jan. 12, the first time earning an AP top five ranking since the 2001-02 season.

The Commodores (17-0, 4-0 SEC) have tied their best start to a season in program history as well as their longest winning streak in program history. Vanderbilt also started 17-0 in 1992-93, a season it made the Final Four.

Mikayla Blakes leads the SEC with 24.9 points per game and is coming off a 25-point performance in a win at Texas A&M.

The Commodores have a marquee victory as they defeated LSU, 65-61, on Jan. 4.
