Canada is heading to the World Juniors semifinals after defeating Slovakia in the quarterfinals. Czechia overcame Switzerland in the quarterfinals and will now face their toughest test of the tournament.

The winner between Team Canada and Team Czechia with a chance to play in the finals on Jan. 5. They will play the winner of Finland and Sweden who will play in the earlier quarterfinal matchup on Sunday.

Canadadominated Slovakia in the quarterfinals, winning 7-1. Michael Misa, Tij Iginla, Porter Martone, Brady Martin, Sam O'Reilly, Cole Beaudoin and Cole Reschny all netted goals, while goal keeper Jack Ivankovic stopped 21 of the 22 shots he saw in the matchup.
Czechia had a closer game against Switzerland, but still won 6-2. Adam Jiricek, Jakub Fibigr, Petr Sikora, Tomas Galvas, Jiri Klima, and Samuel Drancak all scored a goal. Goalie Michal Orsulak saw 20 shots and stopped 18 of them.
