Diggs turned 27 years old in September.

What position does Trevon Diggs play?

He's a cornerback.

When was Trevon Diggs drafted?

Diggs was selected by the Cowboys in the second round of the 2020 draft, with the 51st pick overall, out of Alabama.

He was teammates with current Packers safety Xavier McKinney from 2017-19 at Alabama. Packers running back Josh Jacobs was on the team with Diggs in 2017-2018.

What were Trevon Diggs stats with the Dallas Cowboys?

Diggs was a first-team All-Pro in 2021 when he led the league with a staggering 11 interceptions, two of which he returned for touchdown. That set a new Cowboys franchise record for picks in a season. He followed that up with a Pro Bowl season in 2022, but he only has nine career interceptions in the other four-plus years of NFL football combined outside of 2021. He did, however, miss most of the 2023 season with an injury and wasn't available when the Cowboys faced the Packers in the playoffs that year.

All told, he has 20 career interceptions, 63 career passes defended, two forced fumbles and a fumble recovery, plus one sack. However, in eight games in 2025, he has not registered an interception or pass defended, with 25 tackles (1 for loss).

In 2022, he was named No. 23 on the list of NFL Top 100 Players, as selected by league players. He signed a five-year, $97 million deal with Dallas prior to the 2023 season.

In 2023, he tore his ACL in September and missed the rest of the season. He struggled upon his return in 2024 and played in 11 games before undergoing season-ending knee surgery to repair cartilage.

What is Trevon Diggs contract situation?

Diggs isn't guaranteed any money after 2025, though he could make about $15 million next year on a team option. He'll essentially cost Green Bay about $500,000 the rest of the season, including $472,000 for Week 18 pay and a bonus of $59,000 for being active in the regular-season finale.

Why did the Cowboys release Trevon Diggs now?

There does appear to have been disagreement between the organization and Diggs about whether or not he was ready to return to the team, health-wise. He had returned to practice and felt he was ready to play; Diggs had also questioned the team's defensive scheme.

Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer insisted that the team didn't make the decision solely because Diggs missed a flight home from Washington on Christmas, but that it was one of many factors. Diggs had requested to fly separately home so he could spend time with his Maryland-based family for the holiday.

ESPN reported that the Cowboys were not pleased with his approach to rehab after the 2023 ACL tear.

Trevon Diggs is the brother of Patriots receiver Stefon Diggs

Trevon Diggs is the younger brother of four-time Pro Bowl receiver Stefon Diggs, whose Patriots are having a huge season. However, Diggs has been charged with felony strangulation and assault from an incident in early December. He denies those allegations.
