New England Patriots wide receiver Efton Chism III was excited following the team's victory over the New York Jets on Sunday.

The fact that he caught his first NFL reception and scored his first NFL touchdown probably made the win even sweeter for the undrafted rookie. Chism finished the game with two catches for 40 yards and one touchdown. His longest grab of the afternoon came on his first reception, which went for 30 yards.

Chism was a preseason standout for the Patriots, recording 12 receptions for 121 yards and two touchdowns. It was a long time coming to see him finally have an opportunity to contribute on offense in a regular-season game. He couldn't stop smiling when talking about his first NFL catch.

“Super special. Super surreal," Chism told reporters. "I think you always kinda dream of those moments, and then it happens. I’m just very blessed and thankful to be here, and just have a great receivers room, great quarterback, great coaches—top down, everyone in our program. It's special, and I'm very thankful to be a part of it.”

Chism could prove to be an impact player with Mack Hollins going on injured reserve and Kayshon Boutte working his way back from concussion protocol. He's a talented young receiver who gets separation and makes plays after the catch.

Those abilities alone should get him more opportunities.
