Welcome to 2026. It's that time of the year when resolutions are made.
So what should the Jacksonville Jaguars' New Year's resolution be?
We could go big picture with this resolution and try to look ahead to the offseason and even the 2026 season. However, the Jaguars are about to enter the playoffs and appear poised to make a run. So that is where our attention will lie.

Heading into the postseason, the Jaguars should be looking to get more out of their run game on offense.
While the run game provided a steady presence for the offense through the first half of the season, that hasn't been the case over the last month-plus. As Liam Coen said recently, there is still meat left on that bone.
Overall, the Jaguars rank 27th in yards per rush, averaging 4.1 yards per attempt.
Trevor Lawrence and the red-hot passing game has continued to put up points, but having a steady run game to couple with the aerial attack could take this offense to a new level.
When operating regularly from manageable down-and-distance situations, that opens up the playbook for Liam Coen and can create advantageous opportunities through the air.

On the flip side, if the run game doesn't get going, that could create a hurdle for the Jaguars in the playoffs.
Without a strong run game, an offense can find itself operating from behind the sticks and in predictable passing situations. In these instances, defenses have the schematic advantage, and moving the ball via the passing game becomes more challenging.
Travis Etienne has remained productive this season, eclipsing 1,000 rushing yards, but there is room for more efficiency from the Jaguars' run game as a whole in the postseason.
