What did PFF think of Minnesota Vikings' Donovan Jackson in Week 17?

Guard Donovan Jackson has looked like a homerun selection for the Vikings through the early parts of the season. He was impressive in the first two weeks before injury hit him and derailed his momentum. He returned in Week 7 after the team's Bye Week, and he looked like he picked up right where he left off in the weeks since.

To get some added context on his overall performance in Week 17, when he was a bright spot in a game that had many, we can turn to Pro Football Focus for that. PFF's Dalton Wasserman took a deep dive into the work of all 32 first-round draft picks who played in Week 17. PFF offers deeper insight into performance, and Wasserman laid out what Jackson's work looked like.

Wasserman writes, "Jackson posted a decent 66.9 PFF pass-blocking grade while allowing two hurries against the Lions‘ talented defensive line in Week 17. He has not allowed a sack in eight consecutive appearances. His relatively low PFF overall grade this past week was hurt by his 48.5 PFF run-blocking grade — the lowest by a Vikings offensive lineman this week."

Jackson's work in the passing game has been his northstar as a rookie. The running game has struggled, whether that falls on the offensive line or the lack of a threat from their passing game remains to be seen. Regardless, heading into their final week, Jackson has a chance to close out his rookie season with a statement against the Packers.
