The Kansas City Chiefs find themselves in an unfamiliar spot as they head into the offseason.

After finishing out the 2025 campaign with a loss to the Las Vegas Raiders, 14-12, the Chiefs have officially closed out their disappointing season on a six-game losing streak and with a 6-11 record.

The glass-half-full view on things is that the Chiefs have a high draft pick, which is about the only good news in an offseason filled with uncertainty.

According to Tankathon, the Chiefs will be picking from the No. 9 spot in April after the results of Sunday's games.

The Chiefs had a three-way tie with their 6-11 record with the New Orleans Saints and Cincinnati Bengals. Kansas City falls behind the Saints but ahead of the Bengals due to strength of schedule.

There are a slew of ways the Chiefs could go with their first-round pick.

Tight end is a possibility, as the Chiefs could see Travis Kelce retire.

If the Chiefs do opt for a tight end in this spot, Oregon's Kenyon Sadiq would likely be the pick, as he's widely viewed as the top tight end prospect.

Running back is another option for Kansas City and Notre Dame superstar running back Jeremiyah Love, who is widely considered the best back in the class, could be there for the taking at No. 9 overall.

A lot can change between now and the draft, so it's anyone's guess which way the Chiefs will ultimately go.

What we do know is that, barring a trade back, Chiefs fans are going to have an earlier night than usual when the first round of the draft comes in April.
