Cathedral Prep and McDowell have wrestled numerous dual meets in the past decade. Not since 2016, however, have the Trojans downed their crosstown rivals.
Nothing changed Jan. 5. Cathedral Prep handled business once again.

Four pins and three technical falls powered Prep, 39-24, over rival McDowell in a District 10 non-region boys wrestling dual. Jourian Crockett (127 pounds), Sawyer King (133), Mario Panighetti (139) and Gabe Dorman (160) each recorded a pin while Mason Gregor (121), Bode Terry (189) and Omar Arrington (215) won by tech fall.
Prep previously beat McDowell, 65-5, at the Rambler Duals in December. Their Jan. 5 rematch at McDowell’s Paul Goll Memorial Gymnasium was wrestled without some of Prep’s typical starters.
