WATCH: Carl Granderson's must-see INT keeps Falcons out of end zone

1 week ago 2

A game that will ultimately crown an NFC South champion has already delivered plenty of excitement. After an early Juwan Johnson fumble in the first quarter, the New Orleans Saints quickly answered with an extraordinary play from edge rusher Carl Granderson to swing momentum back in its favor.

Johnson's fumble initially set the Falcons up with prime red-zone field position, but Granderson erased the threat in emphatic fashion. On a first-and-10 screen pass attempt to tight end Kyle Pitts, Granderson read Kirk Cousins’ eyes, sniffed out the play, and leapt into the passing lane for a momentum-changing interception that prevented a potential scoring drive.

The Saints’ edge rushers have been a constant presence early in this one. Cam Jordan and Chase Young have already combined for multiple sacks, keeping Atlanta’s offense off balance. Granderson’s interception only adds to a dominant start from New Orleans’ defensive front.
