1 week ago 2

In a game filled with ups and downs, 39-year-old quarterback Josh Johnson led Washington to a 24-17 victory over the Commanders' divisional rivals, the Philadelphia Eagles, to end their 2025 campaign with a victory.

Johnson finished the game completing 14 of 22 passing attempts for 131 yards and a touchdown, and racked up 45 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown on nine carries.

His favorite target was Deebo Samuel (5); however, Samuel finished with only two receptions for 20 yards and led all pass catchers in missed targets.

Johnson's leading receiver was veteran Terry McLaurin, who caught four of his five targets for a team-high 57 yards. Tight end John Bates caught two passes for 13 yards, including a two-yard touchdown.

Treylon Burks and Ben Sinnott each caught two passes for 12 and three yards, respectively. Running back's Jeremy McNichols and Chris Rodriguez Jr. each caught one pass for 18 and eight yards, respectively.

Despite throwing an interception in late in the first half, and coughing up a fumble early in the third quarter, Johnson never lost his competitive edge, and eventually walked in the game-winning touchdown with 2:32 remaining in the game.

Washington finishes its 2025 season with a 5-12 record, with three division wins — two against the New York Giants, and one against the Eagles.
