The transfer portal may be winding down, but the Virginia Tech Hokies keep on adding players. On Thursday, Virginia Tech landed a commitment from Penn State wide receiver Tyseer Denmark.

Denmark is a 5-foot-10, 190-pound receiver from Philadelphia who played at Imhotep Institute in high school. Imhotep is a top program in Pennsylvania and Denmark is the latest former Penn Stater who also played at Imhotep to join the Hokies.

A 3-star signee in the 2024 recruiting class, Denmark originally committed to Oregon before James Franklin flipped him to Penn State. Denmark redshirted in 2024 after appearing in four games, catching two passes for 28 yards and a touchdown. In 2025, Denmark appeared in eight games and caught two passes for 17 yards. Most of Denmark’s limited playing time with the Nittany Lions came with him lined up in the slot.

Denmark brings excellent speed to Virginia Tech’s wide receiver corps. He’s the fourth receiver to announce his transfer to the Hokies, joining Jeff Exinor (Penn State), Que’Sean Brown (Duke) and Marlion Jackson (Louisiana Tech). All but Jackson have at least two years or more of eligibility remaining. Brown is the one most likely to start alongside Ayden Greene in 2026.
