Vanderbilt football transfer portal live updates tracker for Clark Lea, 2026 roster

It's the first day that Vanderbilt football players can officially enter the transfer portal as Jan. 2 arrives.

Some players have already announced their intentions to enter, though they could not formally enter until the portal window began. Those players include quarterbacks Drew Dickey and Jeremy St-Hilaire, edge defender Jailen Ruth and offensive linemen Cooper Starks and Misael Sandoval.

Vanderbilt lost the ReliaQuest Bowl to Iowa, 34-27, on Dec. 31 to end its season with a 10-3 record. Some players have already indicated their intentions to declare for the NFL draft, including Diego Pavia and Eli Stowers.

Some players have also already said they plan to return, including wide receiver Junior Sherrill and tight end Cole Spence.

The Commodores have also had one early portal commit in Morehouse tight end Maurice Veney, who was allowed to enter the portal early because he is not at a Division I school.

Who is leaving Vanderbilt football via transfer portal

Edge Jailen Ruth

Ruth announced he would enter the portal via social media Dec. 21. Ruth appeared in 12 games in 2025, recording two tackles and a recovered fumble.

OL Cooper Starks

Starks announced he would enter the portal on social media Dec. 18. Starks appeared in 10 games during his Vanderbilt career, nine of which were in 2025.

OL Duncan MacDonald

MacDonald announced he would enter the portal on social media Dec. 18. He appeared in three games across four years with the Commodores.

OL Misael Sandoval

Sandoval announced on social media that he would be entering the portal Dec. 16. He appeared in 13 games in 2024 and four games in 2025 after redshirting in 2023.

QB Jeremy St-Hilaire

St-Hilaire was reported to be entering the portal on Dec. 16. He did not appear in a game across two seasons with the program.

QB Drew Dickey

Dickey announced Dec. 4 that he would be entering the portal. Dickey spent four seasons with the program and in total appeared in three games, one in 2023 and two in 2025. He completed one pass for 28 yards against Georgia State and missed the second half of the 2025 season dealing with a cardiac issue.
