Auburn football has added nine former USF players to its roster from the transfer portal. However, their most recent commitment is the greatest of the bunch.
When Alex Golesh accepted the head coaching position at Auburn, it was widely assumed that his talented quarterback, Byrum Brown, would follow him. A few days after visiting the Plains, Brown's move is now official. Jeffrey Lee of On3 reports Tuesday morning that Brown has committed to Auburn.

For the second consecutive season, Auburn will need to replace its entire quarterback room ahead of the next season, as Jackson Arnold, Ashton Daniels, and Deuce Knight have all entered the transfer portal. Golesh has worked to fill the need at the position by signing freshman quarterback Rhys Brush and by adding freshman quarterback Locklan Hewlitt from USF from the transfer portal in addition to Brown. The pecking order is not established yet, but it is assumed that Brown is the prime candidate to become the first-string quarterback this fall.
Brown has the tools to take over that role after passing for 3,158 yards, rushing for 1,008 yards, and scoring 42 touchdowns. In four seasons at USF, Brown passed for 7,690 yards, which ranks fifth among USF quarterbacks historically. His 2,265 rushing yards also rank fifth in USF history, and third among Bulls quarterbacks.
