On Tuesday, USC went into the transfer portal once again and landed former Michigan State defensive lineman Alex VanSumeren. However, he is not the only defensive line transfer from another Big Ten program joining the Trojans, as shortly after, USC picked up a commitment from Penn State DL Zuriah Fisher.
Fisher spent the past six seasons with the Nittany Lions. He was granted a seventh year of eligibility due to injuries that caused him to miss nearly all of the 2022 and 2024 campaigns. Returning to the field this past season, he recorded 19 total tackles, two sacks, a forced fumble, and a pass defended.

USC is scheduled to visit Penn State in Happy Valley next season. It will be a fascinating reunion game for both sides, as in addition to Fisher facing off against his former team, the Trojans will be matching up against former USC defensive coordinator D'Anton Lynn. Lynn recently departed the Trojans to take the same position at Penn State—his alma mater.
Fisher is USC's fifth transfer portal addition since Sunday. With no spring transfer window this year, expect general manager Chad Bowden and the Trojans to continue to be aggressive in the portal this winter as they look to turn their roster into that of a Big Ten contender.
