With so much uncertainty swirling around the transfer market, UCF football landed its most significant piece of the offseason when 4-star receiver Tyren Hornes signed with the Knights and their 2026 recruiting class on Saturday.
Hornes, a 6-foot, 175-pound standout at Booker High School in Sarasota, announced his decision at the Under Armour All-American Game, where he earned MVP honors. He finished with a game-high 68 yards receiving on three catches with a touchdown.

The South Florida native had 39 offers from schools such as Georgia, Kansas State, Michigan State, Auburn and Ole Miss.
In three varsity seasons, Hornes appeared in 32 games, totaling 2,434 receiving yards on 136 catches with 35 total touchdowns. He was the 25th overall player in the state and the 26th overall receiver in the country according to 247Sports’ composite rankings.
Hornes is the first 4-star prospect to sign with coach Scott Frost since his return to the program last season. His signing gives the Knights 14 signees to the class and bumps the group’s overall ranking to No. 63 in the country.
He’s the fourth-highest-ranked recruit (.9302) to sign at UCF behind defensive linemen John Walker (.9537) and DeMarcus Johnson (.933) and running back Cordarrian Richardson (.9331) and ahead of receiver Joshua Reese (.9176).
