No. 22 Tennessee (10-4, 0-1 SEC) will host Texas (9-5, 0-1 SEC) on Tuesday in its SEC basketball home opener. Tipoff between the Vols and Longhorns is slated for 9 p.m. EST at Food City Center.
The contest will be televised by ESPN2 with Karl Ravech (play-by-play) and Jimmy Dykes (analyst) on the call.

Tennessee head coach Rick Barnes is 4-1 against Texas as the Vols' head coach. He served as the Longhorns' head coach from 1998-2015.

Tennessee junior forward Cade Phillips is out. He will miss the remainder of the 2025-26 basketball season due to a recurring shoulder injury.

"We will sincerely miss having Cade on the court and he is certainly disappointed that he won't be able to play the rest of the regular season, but it's essential he gets healthy," Barnes said on Dec. 8, 2025. "Cade did all he could to play through this injury as long as possible."
Redshirt sophomore forward J.P. Estrella and senior forward Felix Okpara are probable for the Vols.
All Texas players are listed as available.
