The portal window marches on and yesterday came with (mostly) great news for the Longhorns. The Longhorns locked up another commitment at a position of need and seems to be sitting in a great spot for a top-tier RB. Despite that, the quest for Cam Coleman continues to get more and more convoluted.
Let’s jump in and break down where Texas stands heading into the back half of the week:

Cam Coleman - Auburn WR
The highest rated player in the portal is also the #1 target for the Longhorns. Coleman was in College Station yesterday and is expected to make his way to Lubbock to visit the Red Raiders tomorrow. USC has officially bowed out of the recruitment, according to Pete Nakos of On3. That leaves Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech and possibly Alabama competing for Coleman’s services. This recruitment has been as quiet as any in the country, so it’s hard to know where the Longhorns stand, but I’d expect a decision in the coming days.
Raleek Brown - Arizona State RB
The biggest piece of good news to come out of yesterday is the pursuit of Raleek Brown. The Longhorns missed out on Issac Brown with him deciding to stay at Louisville and it seems Jadan Baugh is heading towards staying with Florida. That left Texas searching and this is a fantastic place to land. Brown brings remarkable speed and pass catching ability to the table. Matt Zenitz and Chris Hummer of CBSSports have predicted Brown to commit to the Longhorns. Jabbar Juluke is expected to visit Brown today and then Brown should be in Austin tomorrow. I’d expect a decision within 24-48 hours and I’d bet it’ll be the Longhorns. This might not end the Longhorns RB pursuits, but it gives Texas an RB1 heading into 2026.
Michael Masunas - Michigan State TE
The only commitment on the day came in the TE room, adding Masunas. He brings yet another solid blocker to the TE unit and adds the veteran presence the room is missing. The quartet of Masunas, Spencer Shannon, Nick Townsend and Emaree Winston bring remarkable versatility to the TE room. The Longhorns are unlikely to have a Gunnar Helm in 2026, but the room as a whole looks incredibly strong heading into spring.
Bo Mascoe - Rutgers CB
Visits continue to unfold on the 40 Acres and Bo Mascoe was on campus yesterday, visiting his former coach Mark Orphey and the Longhorns. Mascoe is also likely to visit Ohio State later this week before making a decision. Secondary seems to be the toughest position group to get a beat on for Texas, plainly because there are a number of different ways they could go. Graceson Littleton playing so well at the nickel back position could encourage Texas to find an outside corner, like Mascoe. They could also want to slide Littleton back outside and add a true nickel along with Wardell Mack. Regardless, Mascoe would be a strong addition, whether as a depth piece or a starter.
Christian Alliegro - Wisconsin LB
This is the player Longhorn fans should be watching closest. The need for a true MLB is no secret around Texas and Alliegro would be, in my opinion, the best choice of any LB available. Alliegro has 124 career tackles and has been the leader of the Badgers defense for the past two seasons. Alliegro not only brings experience to the table, but elite toughness. Last season, Alliegro broke his arm against Ohio State, only to finish the season with a club on his arm. That is the type of toughness that Will Muschamp loves and Texas badly needs. Alliegro is on campus currently and if I were Muschamp and Sarkisian, I’d do everything I can to make sure he doesn’t leave.
Zion Williams - LSU DT
This, fortunately, is likely to be a rather non-dramatic recruitment for Texas. Williams was a three-star prospect in the 2025 recruiting class, but at 6’4”, 360lbs, the potential was very clear. Williams committed to LSU with Texas finishing second, but has now entered the portal after one year in Baton Rouge and the Longhorns are back in it. It’s expected Williams will be on campus either today or tomorrow and Texas could lock up a commitment as early as today. This would likely not be an immediate starter, but can be a great developmental nose tackle for Muschamp.
Former Longhorn Commitments:
Tre Wisner commits to Florida State: The Longhorns leading rusher from this season has found a new home in Tallahassee. Wisner will team up with sophomore Ousmane Kromah in the backfield, which could be a formidable duo for the Seminoles.
