This transfer portal is wild and unpredictable. It can be nearly impossible to keep up as the bullets are flying, especially since the spring portal window has been eliminated. Roughly 16% of the FBS and FCS rostered players in 2025 are in the transfer portal currently, per Tracking Football and SportSource Analytics.
It can be overwhelming trying to keep up and this is expected to be the busiest portal cycle of Sarkisian tenure in Austin. I figured doing a daily round-up of all the rumors, visits, commitments and everything else that happens around the Longhorns throughout these next 14 days.

It was a remarkably busy day one for Steve Sarkisian and his staff, that’s for sure. Let’s take this player by player to make it easier:
Cam Coleman - Auburn WR
Coleman is the crown jewel of the transfer portal class today and it seems he’s in Austin as I’m writing this. The former Auburn WR has interest from a number of schools, but it seems Texas A&M and Alabama are the Longhorns top competition. He has a visit set up for both, but the goal for Sarkisian is for Cam Coleman to not make it to either. If Texas locks him up, expect it to be in the next 24-48 hours.
Issac Brown - Louisville RB
Another player that Texas seems to be in a great spot for is star RB, Isaac Brown. He has been projected to Texas by the 247Sports Staff and is also rumored to be in Austin this weekend. It seems Miami, his hometown team, would be the Longhorns biggest competition but the Longhorns seem to be in a solid position with Brown and a commitment could come very soon.
Michigan Offensive Linemen
The Longhorns have begun their search for offensive linemen, and it seems Sarkisian liked what he saw on the other side of the field. Andrew Sprague and Jake Guarnera, both All-B1G selections this season seem to have the Longhorns attention. Missouri is the other school to watch for Sprague, according to On3’s Pete Nakos.

Guarnera entered the portal with a no-contact-tag, which just means he and his representation will reach out to schools rather than the other way around. It seems Texas has interest in both, something that would not only bring upgrades on the interior, but also built-in cohesiveness between those two.
If Texas can reel in this pair of trench players, it’s fair to say Texas will see a much improved OL in 2026. That being said, don’t expect that to be it for Texas up front.
Ian Geffrard - DT Arkansas
Texas will have Geffrard on campus today and seem to be the team setting the pace in this recruitment as well. Geffrard stands at 6'5", 380+ lbs, a true mountain of a man and someone Will Muschamp would love to have anchoring his defense. Cole Brevard is off to the NFL, so adding a big-time NT would not be a surprise. It also wouldn't be a surprise if Texas locked in this commitment this weekend, despite interest from Auburn, SMU and Kentucky.
Jayden Woods - Florida EDGE
This is another player that is possibly in DKR as you read this. Woods put together a stellar freshman season for the Gators, including 2.5 sacks, 5 TFLs and an INT. He earned Freshman All-SEC honors this season and would be a great addition to an already talented edge rushing room. He would not only bring depth, but remarkable potential beyond just 2026. Texas seems to be the clear leader here, so I’d watch this closely.
Robert Woodyard - Auburn LB
Woodyard would be the absolute perfect Anthony Hill replacement, but that means he commands plenty of interest. According to Matt Zentiz and Chris Hummer of 247Sports, Woodyard is visiting Kentucky right now and Missouri following that, but is eyeing a possible visit to Texas. Reporter for Inside Texas, Eric Nahlin, put in a prediction for Woodyard to commit to Miami, so this is a recruitment that seems to be unpredictable. Regardless, if Texas can get him on campus, they will do everything they can to keep him there, it might just be a fight.
Edwin Joseph - DB Florida State
Another player in Austin currently is the redshirt junior safety Edwin Joseph. Joseph is a true difference maker on the backend, with 37 tackles and 3 INTs for the Seminoles this season. Georgia, Texas A&M and Mississippi State are the top competition for the Longhorns, according to Bobby Burton of OnTexasFootball. Texas has a need for an experienced safety to out next to McDonald and Joseph fits the bill.

Derek Williams - S Texas
This might look odd, but Derek Willliams Jr., who was previously reported to have intentions to enter the portal, could be leaning toward staying in Austin after all. That would be another massive retention for a position of need, and Blake Gideon returning to Austin couldn’t have hurt. I’d expect a decision on this one today or tomorrow at the latest, and it seems Texas is confident about keeping him.
Gianni Spetic - Memphis K
It’s well known that the Longhorns need to replace both Mason Shipley and Jack Bouwmeester this offseason. It seems the Shipley hole is likely to be filled soon with Gianni Spetic, Lou Groza semifinalist from Memphis. Spetic went 15/20 this season, including 4/5 from over 50 yards. It seems all signs point to the Longhorns here, so we could be writing about his commitment this time tomorrow.
That does it for today, but there will be plenty more tomorrow, and the day after that and so on. It’s going to be a busy time for the Longhorns, which means we have to keep you updated on a daily basis. This will be the one-stop shop for all-portal news for the Longhorns as they navigate through an insane two weeks. The Longhorns are off to a good start, but the work has just begun.
