Texas A&M will reportedly host Auburn wide receiver on a visit

Another under‑the‑radar area of need for Texas A&M this offseason is wide receiver. The Aggies already boast an extremely talented young group headlined by All-American Marion Craver, but the room still lacks an experienced presence and a true top‑end speed threat. That’s why it’s no surprise the staff is bringing in a dynamic SEC playmaker for a visit.

On Friday, Hayes Fawcett reported that Auburn sophomore wide receiver Malcolm Simmons has included Texas A&M among the schools he plans to visit.

Simmons is one of the more intriguing names in the portal. His career hit turbulence last summer, due to an arrest, but he was ultimately cleared and stayed out of trouble throughout the 2024 season. On the field, he delivered a breakout year: 25 receptions for 457 yards and two touchdowns, highlighted by an eye‑popping 18.3 yards per catch. That explosive efficiency is exactly the kind of game‑breaking ability A&M is looking to add.

Ranked as the No. 8 wide receiver in the On3 Transfer Portal rankings, Simmons would bring instant juice to the Aggies’ passing attack—especially after the departure of KC Concepcion. Still, this is a pivotal cultural moment for Mike Elko’s program, and the staff will need to do its homework to ensure Simmons aligns with the standard they’re building in Aggieland.
