With the Texas A&M season officially in the books, players are beginning to make decisions about their futures. Playing time and coaching turnover are two of the biggest drivers behind portal movement, and more often than not, we never get a full explanation. Still, departures are inevitable — and a veteran Aggie defensive back is now looking for a fresh start.

On Monday, Pete Nakos of On3Sports reported that senior safety Bryce Anderson is expected to enter the transfer portal when it opens in the coming weeks.

A former four‑star recruit, Anderson stayed through the coaching transition but now finds himself in the middle of significant change within the secondary, both on the roster and staff fronts. After suffering a concerning head/neck injury early in the season against Notre Dame, he didn’t return to action until late in the year and did not record any statistics.

Given the moving pieces on that side of the ball — and the likelihood of seeking a clearer path to playing time — the news falls into the category of unexpected, but not surprising. More importantly, you hope he’s fully healthy and wish him nothing but success at his next stop.

Below is his announcement.

Bryce Anderson Career Numbers at A&M

  • Tackles: 117

  • TFL: 13

  • Sacks: 1.5

  • Passes deflected: 6

  • Interceptions: 2
