Texas A&M senior DL invited to 2026 NFL Combine

1 week ago 2

The list keeps growing for Texas A&M's NFL Draft announcements, as unanimous All-American senior edge Cashius Howell became the latest player to announce his intention. In contrast, fellow senior defensive lineman Albert Regis, one of the most respected players in the program, is also being recognized for his elite play in his final year after declaring for the draft earlier this week.

Sticking with the process for four seasons, starting as a reserve on one of the many loaded Texas A&M defensive lines, Regis began to live up to his immense potential as a lockdown run defender, recording 36 tackles, six pass deflections, and half a sack. Heading into the 2025 season, Regis continued to dominate in the trenches, finishing his final season with 49 tackles, 18 solo tackles, two sacks, a forced fumble, and three pass deflections.

During the first-round CFP loss to Miami, Regis played like the most reliable defender on the field for the Aggies, credited with six tackles. If not for poor linebacker play against the run, Regis and the rest of the Aggie defense played well enough to win the game.

Regis is the type of football player every NFL team wants on its roster, and he possesses the size (6'1", 317 pounds) to make an immediate impact for any run defense as a rotational piece during his rookie season. On Wednesday, it was revealed that Regis has been invited to the 2026 NFL Combine, a significant achievement for the former three-star prospect from La Grange, Texas.
