Texas A&M’s Trisha Ford Joins Team USA Staff in Australia

1 week ago 2

Not all opportunities arrive at the perfect moment, and sometimes you have to be selective about which ones you pursue. But when Team USA invited Texas A&M head softball coach Trisha Ford to join the 2025–2028 coaching pool, it was simply too meaningful to turn down.

Her selection comes as no surprise. Ford has revitalized the Aggie softball program, steering it back into national relevance while delivering one of the program’s strongest regular seasons in decades. And while the postseason didn’t end the way the Aggies envisioned, the foundation she’s built has made one thing clear: Texas A&M is once again a place where you can compete for championships.

Here’s what Ford had to say when she received the news:

“It’s an incredible honor to be selected for the USA Softball coaching pool for the next four years. Representing our country at this level is something every coach aspires to. I’m especially proud to bring the spirit and work ethic of Texas A&M to the national stage. I’m looking forward to learning, growing and contributing alongside some of the best minds in the game.”

Now, the time to represent—and to learn—has arrived. Ford will ring in the new year in Australia, serving on the staff for Team USA in the 2025 USA Down Under Series, held December 31 through January 3. The Americans will play four games during the event, with Ford joining fellow SEC coach and softball icon Patty Gasso, who will lead the team as head coach.

The Aggies will open up the season against ACU on February 5 during the first day of the Aggie Classic at Davis Diamond in Bryan-College Station.
