Texas A&M is currently hosting Florida transfer WR this weekend

Texas A&M's 2026 wide receiver room is looking to add at least one more productive veteran from the transfer portal, and while the pursuit for former Auburn star wideout Cam Coleman could end this weekend if the former A&M commit leaves Austin with a signed NIL deal, head coach Mike Elko and new wide receivers coach John Perry are looking for a backup plan.

This week, it was revealed that Florida had re-signed wide receivers Dallas Wilson and Vernell Brown III, leaving sophomore wideout Eugene Wilson III as the name to watch in the portal. On3 insider Hayes Fawcett reported that Wilson is visiting Texas A&M today and tomorrow before heading to LSU. This is significant for the Aggies, who need to try to replace star WR KC Concepcion, who declared for the 2026 NFL Draft.

Wilson, who has been a consistent and reliable target amid, let's be honest, bad quarterback play during three seasons with the Gators, appeared in just six games in 2025 due to an ankle injury that also sidelined him for most of 2024. Still, his 2023 performance, which included 538 receiving yards and six touchdowns, proves that the Florida native is highly impactful when healthy.

Still, one of the primary reasons head coach Mike Elko is pursuing Cam Coleman is the size differential, needing a true X receiver on the outside, providing even more value in the red zone. However, adding Wilson to the 2026 lineup would continue the focus on speed and separation rather than size.
