Texas A&M could host Oklahoma State transfer Edge soon

6 days ago 2

Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko is entirely focused on adding star players from the transfer portal like nearly every Power 4 program in the country, and after landing UTSA transfer tight end Houston Thomas, Elko and his staff have already filled a significant need.

Outside of attempting to land former Texas A&M commit and Auburn transfer receiver Cam Coleman, the Aggies are being linked to several defensive players who would make an immediate impact, now including Oklahoma State freshman standout edge Wendell Gregory, who recorded 27 tackles and four sacks amid the Cowboys' ugly 2025 season.

According to Pro Football Focus, Gregory had an all-around fantastic first season as a starter, earning 72.2 in defensive, 68.4 in run defense, and 77.2 in pass rush grades on 419 defensive snaps. Standing at 6'3" and 255 pounds, Gregory would replace outgoing edge Rylan Kennedy, possessing a similar build and having already proven an ability to rush the passer at a high level.

According to On3's Hayes Fawcett, Texas A&M has shown interest and could set up a visit as soon as next week. Right now, Gregory is visiting Texas Tech, while Florida State, USC, and Miami are also in the mix. Texas Tech will be tough to outbid if Gregory sees the Red Raiders as his top destination, especially given Miami's continued CFP contention.
