The Tennessee Titans (3-14) came out strong, but quickly faltered after rookie quarterback Cam Ward was injured while scoring Tennessee’s only touchdown in their 41-7 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars (13-4) to close out the 2025 season.
The Titans' makeshift, injury-riddled defense was no match for the Jaguars’ high-powered offense, and could not slow down quarterback Trevor Lawrence and the passing attack. Jeffery Simmons did set the Titans’ single-season record for sacks by an interior defensive lineman, but that was the biggest highlight of the game, and it took place on the first snap of the game.

Offensively, Tennessee was stuck in neutral once Ward exited after the first series, with quarterback Brandon Allen under siege for most of the afternoon. The Titans struggled to get the ground game going, and their passing attack was erratic all afternoon. Tony Pollard was able to grind out enough yards on the ground to set his career-high in yardage for the season, but most of that came once the game was out of hand.

Keys to the Game
Injuries: This sounds like a broken record, but once again, injuries took a significant toll in this one. Not only was Cam Ward knocked out at the end of the first series, but Tennessee also lost Kevin Zeitler and Corey Levin, leaving their offensive line in a constant state of flux all afternoon.
Secondary depth issues: With Amani Hooker sidelined and Jalyn Armour-Davis on injured reserve, the already-thin secondary was pushed to the limit by Lawrence and the Jaguars offense. Micah Robinson, Sanoussi Kane, Erick Hallett, Jerrick Reed II, and even linebacker James Williams rotated in the secondary. Still, there was too much open space for the Jaguars’ receivers to get open.
Inexperience: The Titans’ youth movement was on full display in this one, as it had been for most of the season, and the team received production from many young players forced into action. Micah Robinson and Truman Jones led the way for the young guys, but players such as Jackson Slater and Sanoussi Kane gained some valuable game experience.
It was over when...
Cam Ward injured his shoulder on a 7-yard touchdown run on the Titans’ first drive. Once Ward left, Tennessee lost the lead and momentum, and the Jaguars never looked back.

Players of the Game
QB Cam Ward: Only played one series before leaving the game with a shoulder injury, but that drive might have been the best of the season for the young signal caller. Ward looked poised and decisive, going 3-of-3 for 52 yards with one rush for seven yards and a touchdown.
CB Micah Robinson: Robinson got the start with Jalyn Armour-Davis out, and made the most of his opportunity. Robinson was sticky in coverage and made plays, plus chipped in with seven total tackles (three solo).
Edge Truman Jones: With Tennessee playing without Arden Key, Jones got a chance to take on a bigger role and played well. The young edge rusher was a presence in the backfield all afternoon, had a pass deflection, and finished with five total tackles (three solo).
Injuries
The Titans once again suffered too many injuries that impacted the outcome of the game. The biggest was quarterback Cam Ward, who injured his shoulder and did not return. Tennessee also lost Kevin Zeitler (quad) and Corey Levin (bicep), and neither returned to action.
What's next?
Titans interim head coach Mike McCoy will meet with reporters on Monday to wrap up the season. Players will also be made available throughout the day.
