Tennessee edge rusher Emmanuel Okoye is entering the transfer portal, which opened Jan. 2, On3.com reported.
Okoye was a three-year project that didn't pan out for the Vols. The Nigerian was discovered after an impressive workout and short stint playing at the NFL Academy in London, England.

He was listed as a four-star international recruit and signed with Tennessee in the 2023 class.
Okoye was a freakishly athletic 6-foot-5, 243-pounder. But he never fully transitioned to football, a sport he had barely played before arriving in Knoxville, even after moving from tight end to edge rusher.
Okoye played only eight games and made one tackle in his career, all during the 2025 season. He took a redshirt in 2023 and missed the 2024 season with an injury. He has either two or three seasons of eligibility remaining, depending on whether he applies for and receives a medical redshirt from the NCAA.
