Ross was named to the 2024 Freshman All-SEC Team and 2024-25 SEC First-Year Honor Roll.
He went to Tennessee from Vestavia Hills High School in Vestavia Hills, Alabama. Ross committed to Tennessee over Alabama, Florida and Texas.
Through seven games in 2025, Tennessee outside linebackers coach Levorn Harbin discussed Ross with the Vols.
"I'm very pleased with him, from him understanding how to play. He's gotten better every week to be honest with you," Harbin said. "I said this a couple weeks ago. I mean he was showing it on the production side, on the stats, but he is doing a great job. He's a young man who plays harder than anybody in my room. I can honestly say that, and they will say the same thing.

"He just has to learn how to do the little things, and he's working on it diligently every day, so he has a chance to be really good. He can take another step, and he will take another step. I think he has a chance to be a really, really good football player."
