Who it’s for: Golfers seeking more height and consistency from the fairway (Qi4D), players who want an adjustable, low-spin option with a compact head (Qi4D Tour), and higher-handicap players who prefer a larger, confidence-building shape with added forgiveness (Qi4D Max).

What you should know: TaylorMade rebuilt its fairway line around refined geometry, updated materials and center of gravity tuning to deliver more predictable launch conditions with improved ball speed.

The Deep Dive: This year, 2026, is not going to be the year when TaylorMade unveils radical changes within its fairway wood lineup because the brand has enjoyed success in the category since revolutionizing it back in 2012 with the release of RocketBallz. Instead, the new Qi4D fairway woods are filled with subtle refinements that should help golfers get more distance and better performance off the tee and from the fairway.

Each of the models—the Qi4D, Qi4D Max, Qi4D Max Lite and Qi4D Tour—features a carbon fiber crown that reduces weight on the top of the head and helps to lower the center of gravity (CG) location. TaylorMade has also boosted the amount of tungsten it adds inside each club, going up to 71 grams, to further drive down the CG location and pull it back, away from the hitting area, to encourage a higher launch angle and flight.

In the Qi4D, Qi4D Max, Qi4D Max Lite, the chassis and hitting area are designed using C300 stainless steel, with the hitting area having a variable-thickness design that is thicker in the middle and thinner around the perimeter. This Inverted Cone Design helps expand the sweet spot, and working with a redesigned Speed Pocket in the sole that has been extended in the toe area, golfers should notice better performance on low-struck shots and toe strikes.

The standard Qi4D 3-wood, which is available as a 3-, 3HL, 5-, 7- and 9-wood (3, 5 and 7 for left-handed players), is a “midsize” offering at 185cc in volume. That is five percent larger than last season’s Qi35 3-wood, while the Qi4D Max, which is available as a 3-, 5-, 7- and 9-wood (3-, 5- and 7-wood for lefties) and Max Lite are 19 percent larger, at 200cc, than the 3-woods they replace in TaylorMade’s lineup. The Max Lite is 30 grams lighter than the standard Max to help moderate- and slower-swinging golfers who struggle to generate clubhead speed swing faster.

It’s worth noting that the 7- and 9-woods now come with adjustable hosels like the other fairway woods, so golfers and fitters can increase or decrease the loft by up to 2 degrees.

The Qi4D Tour comes as a 3- 5- and 7-wood (3 and 5 for left-handed players) and is the smallest of the fairway woods in the family at 170 cc. It has a carbon fiber crown, but instead of stainless steel, the face and body are titanium, which is significantly lighter and stronger. That allowed designers to make the hitting area thinner, for enhanced ball speed.

However, the biggest change in the Tour model is the removal of a large sliding weight from the sole of the Qi10 and Qi35 Tour fairway woods. Taking that weight out, along with the assembly that held it in place, allowed engineers add a massive 65-gram internal tungsten weight behind the Speed Pocket slot to shift the CG location forward and boost ball speed. TaylorMade also added three adjustable weights — a 15-gram and two 4-gram weights — which can be positioned in the heel, toe and back of the club to create a draw or fade bias, or increase spin and the spin rate and launch angle.

Together, the Qi4D, Qi4D Max, Qi4D Max Lite and Qi4D Tour deliver four different takes on TaylorMade’s fairway wood DNA. Whether golfers need height, forgiveness, compact control or a lighter build, the family provides a range of fits without asking players to change their swings to get the ball airborne.
