The Pittsburgh Steelers may have gotten a good look at their next potential starting quarterback in the Green Bay Packers' Week 17 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens, where one quarterback broke out for a monster game, leaving fans stunned.

According to ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky, Packers QB Malik Willis would be the perfect quarterback for the Steelers’ 2026 roster after his electric performance against Baltimore.

“If Mike Tomlin wins and let’s say they keep him as their head coach, and I would, the number one move I would make would be Malik Willis,” Orlovsky said via ESPN’s First Take. “I would go sign Malik Willis from Green Bay in free agency this year. I think he’s proven to be a starting quarterback. I think that starts your next journey in Pittsburgh.”

Selected by the Tennessee Titans with the 86th overall pick in the third round of the 2022 NFL Draft, Willis found success after he was traded to the Green Bay Packers in 2024.

Getting the starting nod over an injured Jordan Love, Willis completed 85.7% of his passes for 288 yards and one touchdown for an impressive 134.6 passer rating in Week 17. He also recorded nine rushing attempts for 60 yards and two more touchdowns.

A dual-threat quarterback with a cannon of an arm, Willis could join the Steelers on a cheaper deal than most starting-caliber quarterbacks, giving Pittsburgh enough wiggle room to keep the rest of the roster competitive for potentially years to come.
