The Pittsburgh Steelers were nearly at full health to kick off practice ahead of their playoff matchup against the Houston Texans. Almost.
On Thursday’s practice report, every Steeler was either a full participant or was limited with a non-injury-related resting veteran designation — with the exception of star running back Jaylen Warren, who sat out with an unspecified illness. The Athletic’s Mike DeFabo added that Warren was spotted “wearing a mask and gloves.”
Following Najee Harris’ departure to the Los Angeles Chargers, Warren took a major leap forward in his first year as the Steelers’ starting running back — recording 1,291 yards from scrimmage and eight total touchdowns, while averaging an incredible 5.1 yards per touch.
