The Pittsburgh Steelers were forced to make an important decision regarding Darnell Washington after he underwent surgery to repair a broken arm he suffered against the Cleveland Browns.
On Wednesday, the Steelers officially announced that Washington was placed on season-ending injured reserve ahead of the Week 18 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens.
Selected with the 93rd overall pick in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft, Washington emerged as a cornerstone in Year 3 of Pittsburgh's offense. Whether it's his excellence in blocking or his ability to create big yards after the catch, Washington is a true weapon on every play.

Hopefully, Washington can recover in time for an equally impressive fourth-year breakout next season, a contract year for the huge 6'7", 300-plus lb tight end. But who will be under center in 2026 remains a mystery.
