Steelers lose coach to Virginia Tech, per report

The Pittsburgh Steelers are losing a member of their coaching staff at the conclusion of the 2025 season.

From the Black and Gold to the Hokies, 247 Sports’ Kolby Crawford reported on Wednesday that Virginia Tech was expected to hire Steelers assistant secondary coach Anthony Midget as its next cornerbacks coach.

Midget, in his second season with Pittsburgh, previously coached for the Tennessee Titans as their defensive backs coach (2020–2022) and the Houston Texans as their secondary coach (2018–2019), as well as their assistant secondary coach (2014–2017).

Best wishes are in order as Midget prepares to navigate a new career opportunity as Virginia Tech's new cornerbacks coach, one that hopefully mirrors the success he found leading a strong Steelers secondary through two seasons.
