Steelers host 6 free agents for workouts ahead of Week 18 vs. Ravens

The Pittsburgh Steelers have been keeping busy ahead of the important Week 18 matchup against the Baltimore Ravens, hosting six players for tryouts.

On Tuesday, KPRC2’s Aaron Wilson reported that the Steelers worked out defensive backs Zy Alexander, Evan Holm, Makari Paige, Doneiko Slaughter, and J.T. Woods, as well as tight end Jaheim Bell.

Injuries likely played a part in the workouts, as cornerbacks James Pierre (calf) and Brandin Echols (groin) missed last week’s game against the Cleveland Browns, a matchup that left tight end Darnell Washington with a broken arm.

It remains to be seen if the Steelers will sign any of the six players to their practice squad, but adding Bell would at least give Pittsburgh a depth option while they navigate their offensive gameplan with their star tight end sidelined.
