After undergoing surgery several weeks ago to repair a partially collapsed lung, Pittsburgh Steelers outside linebacker T.J. Watt finally broke his silence on the incident.

Speaking with reporters on Friday, Watt revealed how frightening and painful the incident was, one that stemmed from a dry needling mishap.

“Very scary,” Watt said via The Athletic’s Mike DeFabo. “Just a significant amount of pain. Any time you go into work and all of a sudden need surgery, it sucks.”

On December 11, J.J. Watt revealed that his brother T.J. underwent surgery to “stabilize” and “repair” his lung following a dry needling session that went wrong. He missed the next four games as he recovered from surgery.

Friday’s injury report revealed that Watt, along with a few other formerly injured Steelers, will make his return against the Baltimore Ravens in this week’s edition of Sunday Night Football.
