Alabama long snapper David Bird has reportedly entered the transfer portal, per Bama247's Mike Rodak.
Bird served as the Crimson Tide's starting long snapper for the majority of the 2025 campaign. The junior spent two years at Cal prior to transferring to Alabama last offseason, as Bird will more than likely draw interest from a number of different programs around the country.

The 6'0", 205 pound player was one of the top long snappers from the class of 2023, and Bird saw action in 13 total games this past season at Alabama.
Alabama currently has one long snapper on the 2026 roster following Bird's departure in Jay Williams, who could start for the Tide to begin the 2026 season. The sophomore did not make an appearance at any point in 2025.
Bird split time with walk-on senior long snapper Alex Rozier for a small portion of the year, but ultimately Alabama could opt to add depth from the transfer portal as well.
