SEC transfer offensive lineman reportedly schedules visit to Alabama

4 days ago 2

According to CBS Sports' Matt Zenitz, LSU transfer offensive lineman DJ Chester is reportedly set to visit Alabama on Thursday.

The Tide have lost a number of offensive lineman to both the NFL draft and the transfer portal in recent weeks. Alabama recently lost both Parker Brailsford and Kadyn Proctor to the NFL draft and Wilkin Formby to the transfer portal, and the Tide have just one starting lineman from the 2025 season returning next year in Michael Carroll, should Kadyn Proctor eventually declare for the NFL draft.

Chester made 14 starts for LSU at both center and left tackle, as the dynamic big man could prove to be a crucial move for the Tide in the near future.

Chester was widely regarded as an elite prospect entering his freshman year. The former four-star recruit was ranked as the No. 1 interior offensive lineman and the No. 54 overall player from the class of 2023, per 247Sports, as Chester could quickly become an absolute game changer should the Tide ultimately sign the former Tiger.

Alabama's offensive line will look completely different in 2026, and Chester visiting Tuscaloosa is an excellent sign moving forward.
