Seahawks make a bunch of roster moves ahead of Week 18

The Seattle Seahawks will play the San Francisco 49ers in Week 18 on Saturday afternoon to determine the NFC West title. The winner won't only capture the division. They'll also clinch a first-round bye and homefield advantage throughout the postseason.

Seahawks general manager John Schneider and head coach Mike Macdonald collaborated on a bunch of necessary roster decisions leading up to Saturday's must-win game. Rookie offensive tackle Amari Kight was promoted from the practice squad to the active 53-man roster. Veteran safety D'Anthony Bell was waived, and wide receiver Cody White was placed on season-ending IR.

Outside linebacker Derick Hall has served his one-game suspension and is back on the 53-man roster.

Kight, a rookie undrafted free agent, had reached the maximum number of standard game-day elevations. That meant the Seahawks had to add him to the 53-man roster if they wanted him available for Saturday's contest. He'll continue playing a reserve role.

Hall's return from suspension created a need for a second roster spot. Hence why White went on IR and Bell was released. Bell will probably rejoin the Seahawks' practice squad once he clears waivers. The Seahawks are preparing for Week 18.
