The Seattle Seahawks defeated the Carolina Panthers 27-10 in Week 17. It was a dominant defensive performance by Mike Macdonald's unit. Panthers quarterback Bryce Young struggled mightily against a defense that had him in a blender all afternoon long.
Young completed 14-of-24 passing attempts for 54 yards, zero touchdowns, and one interception. He ran on nine occasions for 27 yards and a TD. Young was sacked twice and had a quarterback rating of 45.8. No Panthers pass catcher even registered 20 receiving yards.

Producing 54 passing yards on 24 attempts is outrageous. Young's Next Gen Stats passing chart highlights an offense that was limited to the line of scrimmage. The Seahawks defense was truly elite.
Young had the lowest quarterback rating of Week 17. His completion percentage (58.3%) was nearly 10 points below his completion percentage above expecation (CPOE, 67.3%) of -9.0 was tied for third-worst among QBs. He was tied with New York Jets rookie undrafted quarterback Brady Cook.
The 13-3 Seahawks are a well-balanced football team. On Sunday, it was an elite defensive performance that carried them to a multi-score victory. Macdonald's defense was Young's living nightmare.
