Scholl reaches milestone in win

Northridge boys basketball player Brady Scholl scored a career-high 40 points and went over 1,000 career points in the Raiders 76-64 win over Merrillville in opening round action Monday at the Kokomo Holiday Tournament.

Hayden Johnson added 14 points for the Raiders, who 62-42 to start the fourth quarter.

That win was the 750th overall in the history of Northridge basketball.

On Tuesday in Kokomo, Scholl scored 30 points in Northridge's 76-61 win over Kokomo.

Hayden Johnson added 19 points for the Raiders, who outscored Kokomo, 22-8, in the second quarter.

Elsewhere, Brogan Ferrell scored 13 points and Caleb Vincent added 10 to lead NorthWood past Poly Tech, 50-34, in opening round action Monday at the Richmond Tournament.

A 19-8 edge in the second quarter gave the Panthers a 26-17 halftime lead.

NorthWood's defense caused Poly Tech to shoot 25% (12-47) from the field.

In their other game on Monday, the Panthers were outscored 20-8 in the fourth quarter and fell to Valparaiso, 40-37.

Vincent led NorthWood with 11 points.

On Tuesday at Richmond, Mason Pearson scored 11 points and grabbed 13 rebounds in NorthWood's 41-29 loss to Fort Wayne Snider.
