Schefter hints Mike Tomlin could part ways with Steelers after Week 18

Fans of the Pittsburgh Steelers who have been clamoring for head coach Mike Tomlin’s departure may finally get their wish granted, at least that’s what ESPN’s Adam Schefter believes could be possible.

Making an appearance on Monday’s episode of The Pat McAfee Show, Schefter revealed that with either Pittsburgh or Baltimore set to lose their playoff bid in Week 18, Tomlin’s and Ravens head coach John Harbaugh’s futures with their respective organizations could be coming to an end.

“They will have a big say,” Schefter said for both Tomlin and Harbaugh's futures. “...One of them may go in there and say, ‘It’s been a great run. Might be time to go try something else.’ Whether that’s TV or another job somewhere else, like, those things are possible. They’re within the realm of possibility for the wide range of outcomes after Week 18.”

Steelers legend Ben Roethlisberger previously linked Tomlin to the vacant head coaching position at Penn State, but as Schefter told McAfee, a TV job is also entirely possible.

Hopefully Tomlin can pull off the win in Week 18 and put all this noise to bed, potentially gearing up to lead the Steelers to their first playoff win in almost nine years, which could earn back some support he lost over the past decade.
